Welcome! I am currently a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Political Science at Haverford College. My research centers on how actors learn from political violence at both the international and sub-national levels. I am prepared to teach broadly in both International Relations and American Politics with particular interest in courses on international security, civil wars, and U.S. foreign policy.

Please feel free to peruse the website and contact me if you have any questions about my research, teaching, or community involvement.

The painting in the header image, Réservistes, is by the officer-turned-painter Pierre-George Jeanniot and depicts French reservists gathering somewhat desultorily during the Franco-Prussian War. Note that they are well-equipped, but not particularly thrilled to be going to fight. Image via Wikimedia Commons. Portrait photo credit Patrick Montero.
